Physical Education
This short video filmed and edited by Charlotte Miles highlights a collaboration project between “Up to the Challenge” and Spartan Race (packaged as Spartan Edge) at the Montessori Children’s House of Denver (MCHD).
Physical Education classes are incredible opportunities to teach students how to take on a challenge. Whether it’s mastering a physical skill or learning how to persevere when you want to quit, P.E. has the capacity to teach important life-long skills.
In this video, MCHD P.E. teacher Stacy Howard uses the program to be very intentional about teaching skills that will help students think about their reason for taking on challenges and how to persist when things become difficult. Because challenge is inherent in all courses, what students are learning in P.E. can help them in all areas of academics.
