This short video filmed and edited by Charlotte Miles highlights a collaboration project between “Up to the Challenge” and Spartan Race (packaged as Spartan Edge) at the Montessori Children’s House of Denver (MCHD).

Concepts revolving around self-awareness, integrity, purpose, passion, positive mindset, courage, commitment, grit, and flow are often ambiguous and elusive. Because of this, students may not be able to access these concepts to help them best take on challenges.

The tools from “Up to the Challenge” offer a classroom a common language and a concrete visual to discuss these concepts, making them easier to discuss and available - even to elementary-aged students. As you can see from the video, students who do have access to the tools are able to discuss these concepts at a very high level.
