  • Fear of Failure

Often in school, students don’t understand why they are taking on difficult challenges given to them or how to get through them when the challenges become difficult. The “Up to the Challenge” book/presentations can help students gain access to important concepts that will help students best attack challenges in the classroom and in life.

  • Language

By giving students concrete visuals and a common language to discuss concepts of performance character (the mindset and behaviors necessary to best take on a challenge), a teacher can unlock student access to some very important and often overlooked understanding on how students can take on difficult challenges successfully and happiliy.

  • Physical Education

As challenge is inherent with any learning and improvement, the tools from “Up to the Challenge” apply in all academic content areas. Like math, history, or science, physical education classes are an amazing opportunity for students to understand, assess, and reflect on the best way to approach and attack challenges.

  • Growing Leaders

While it is important to take time to discuss performance character concepts, it is also important to give students opportunities to assess how they’re doing. This video shows a culminating challenge teachers and staff offered to students to be able to reflect on whether or not they approached the challenge as they intended.
